DeSean Jackson declared for the 2008 NFL Draft on Jan. 15, 2008 … Mel Kiper rates him as the No. 1 junior receiver in the nation … had 28 touchdowns in 36 career games … tallied nine career 100-yard receiving games … ranks sixth all-time at Cal in receptions, third in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns … had catches in his last 28 consectutive games for the Bears … for his career recorded 52 plays of 20 or more yards (23.0% of his 226 touches).

2007:Earned first-team All-America honors by the American Football Coaches Association and third-team honors from the Associated Press … An All-Pac-10 Second Team selection at receiver and at punt returner … tallied five catches for 84 yards, including a 40-yard TD reception on a difficult twisting catch, in Cal’s victory over Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl … had five grabs for 88 yards and a touchdown against Arizona State … snagged nine passes for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns against UCLA … registered career-bests of 11 catches and 161 yard, including two impressive touchdown grabs, to lead the Bears to a crucial road victory over No. 11 Oregon … dazzled fans with a career-best 73-yard end-around TD run in the win over Colorado State … added to his reputation in the season-opener against Tennessee with 143 yards on just six touches (23.8 yards per touch), including a 77-yard punt return touchdown – his sixth career PR TD…also had a 19-yard run in the win over the Volunteers … missed the second-half of the Washington game and all of the Stanford game with a bruised thigh … rated as the No. 1 receiver in the nation by The Sporting News and Rivals.com, as well as the No. 1 special teams player by Rivals in the preseason … Playboy Magazine Preseason All-American.

2006:A first-team All-Pac-10 selection as a wide receiver and as a punt returner … first-team All-America punt returner by the Associated Press, Walter Camp Foundation, the Football Writers Association of America, the Sporting News and Rivals.com … captured the inaugural Randy Moss Award as the top return man in the nation … led the nation with 18.2 yards per punt return … ranked second in the Pac-10 with nine receiving touchdowns … set school and Pac-10 records for season (4) and career punt return TDs (5) with a 95-yarder against Arizona … had four 100-yard receiving games … registered 28 plays of 20 or more yards … Cal’s top receiver against Arizona, catching six passes for 131 yards, including a career-long 62-yard TD, while returning a kickoff 26 yards to finish with 285 all-purpose yards … had a 72-yard punt return for a TD against UCLA and caught three passes for 58 yards, including a 34-yarder … collected seven passes for 127 yards against Stanford, including a 44-yard reception … registered a 65-yard punt return TD and a 36-yard TD catch against Oregon … tallied a team-best seven catches for 74 yards and a touchdown against Oregon State … returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown against Arizona State … also had four catches for 67 yards, including a 52-yarder, and a TD against the Sun Devils … recorded 103 yards on five catches against Portland State … hooked up with Nate Longshore for three touchdowns against Minnesota as he finished with 114 yards receiving … tallied a team-best 87 receiving yards on four catches against Tennessee, including a 40-yard catch-dodge-and-run for a TD … led the Bears with five catches for 81 yards in the Holiday Bowl victory over Texas A&M.

2005:Led the Bears with 38 catches and 601 yards … also topped Cal with seven touchdown receptions … first career reception (and first collegiate touch of the football) resulted in a 31-yard touchdown vs. Sacramento State in the season opener … his first collegiate punt return came in the same game and he took it 49 yards for another touchdown … credited with nine catches for 130 yards and a touchdown against New Mexico State and 10 catches for 128 yards and a TD against UCLA … in the bowl game against BYU, tallied six catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns with the TD grabs covering 42 and 22 yards … longest reception of the year was a 56-yard TD grab at Stanford for the first score of the game … had a season-best run of 17 yards at UCLA … missed the Washington State game due to injury.

High School:One of the premier high school wide receivers in the nation … Parade Magazine All-American … named the 2004 Glenn Davis Award winner by the Los Angeles Times as Southern California’s player of the year … flagged down 60 passes for 1,075 yards for Long Beach Poly’s CIF Southern Section championship team … scored 15 touchdowns, eight which measured at least 60 yards or more, including two on punt returns … voted Most Valuable Player of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, as he had seven receptions for 141 yards and passed for a 45-yard touchdown in leading the West squad to a 35-3 victory in a game that featured 80 of the nation’s top players … sparkled in the Cali-Florida Bowl game, posting five catches for 145 yards and one touchdown … ESPN.com’s Tom Lemming rated him as the No. 4 wide receiver in the country, PrepStar selected him an All-American and a member of its Dream Team Top 100 players, and Calhisports.com voted him the 2004 Mr. Football State Player of the Year … SuperPrep ranked him No. 21 in its Elite 50 players in the nation and No. 4 player in the state of California … Rivals.com rated him the No. 3 player in the Golden State and the No. 32 player in the USA … in the CIF title game, he was a last-minute replacement on defense and responded with two interceptions, one which he returned 68 yards for a touchdown to help fuel Long Beach Poly’s 21-6 victory over Los Alamitos High … as a junior, hunted down 43 passes for 821 yards and 11 touchdowns in earning first team accolades … a two-time member of the famed Long Beach Press-Telegram “Best in the West” first team.

Personal:Parents are Gayle and Bill Jackson … considered an outstanding baseball player with big-league potential … brother, Byron, played professional football with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs in 1992-93 … owns 4.3 speed in the 40-yard dash … born Dec. 1, 1986 … intends to major in social welfare.
